Winter Driving Tips

• Only travel when necessary.
• Before driving, dial 511 for road conditions.
• Remove snow and ice from vehicle.
• Buckle up.
• Reduce speed.
• Turn on headlights.
• Turn off cruise control.
• Avoid quick starts, stops and fast turns.
• Comply with chain requirements.
• Keep additional distance from other vehicles.
• Watch for snow removal equipment.
• Do not pass without good clearance.
• If vehicle begins to skid, steer in direction of slide and slowly remove foot from accelerator.
